This is an exciting time for the energy industry – and for Direct Energy.
Direct Energy is one of North America’s largest competitive energy suppliers of electricity, natural gas and related services. With approximately 6,000 employees, we are active in upstream production (electricity and natural gas) and downstream delivery. Direct Energy helps customers effectively manage all of their energy needs.
Our vision is to be the most recommended energy and services provider in North America. Our people work across North America using their energy expertise to make a difference in our customers’ lives, every day.
Here’s a sampling of life at Direct Energy and our commitment to our employees.
Communication is an important part of ensuring our people feel a part of our family and have the knowledge and insights to be energy experts. We share the latest news about Direct Energy, our parent company Centrica, and our industry with our people. You name it, we share it – CEO updates, business strategy, financial results, key metrics on health & safety, engagement, net promoter score, product launches, industry news, people celebrations, community outreach events, operational bulletins, employee benefits, discounts, etc. We use many channels to get the message out – team meetings, webcasts, intranet/internet, emails, newsletters, social media, and more. Our commitment is that our people have access to a wide range of information to build their expertise and help them see beyond their own immediate goals.
Operating responsibly is our priority. Our vision is to be a leader in identifying, managing, and championing corporate responsibility issues – like managing our impact on the environment and helping others do the same, playing a role alongside government and the public to help ensure that vulnerable customers can access the energy they need and manage their energy costs, offering our customers reliable and competitively priced products and services, and by providing an enriching experience for our people by providing competitive compensation and benefits, training and career development opportunities and support for work/life balance initiatives.
We believe we have a responsibility to support the communities in which we live and work. We invest our resources, share our knowledge and volunteer our time to help many charitable and community partners, including causes to better homelessness, fuel poverty, climate change and education. We also support our people in a wide range of their own local charitable initiatives.
By nurturing our responsible culture – one committed to continuous improvement - we’re making our business a better business.

This is part of our Business Continuity Plan to ensure people’s safety.
